Our delicately prepared menus are inspired by Simon Kealy, who served as an understudy to world renowned Franco Taruschio at the Walnut Tree in Abergavenny for 6 years
Simon started his career as an understudy at the Walnut Tree in Abergavenny where he spent 6 years learning and working closely with the more recently Michelin star coveted Franco Taruschio.
Prior to achieving his 20 year long ambition of owning and running his own fine dining restaurant – The Old Post Office St Fagans which he acquired October 2006, he has held Head Chef positions in top restaurants both in London and Cardiff.
The modern restaurant extension is a perfect example of how we fuse new with old. We maintain traditions of a warm welcome and a friendly stay, but in the surroundings of clean, modern lines. Even on the menu you will find a mix of traditional dishes given a new dimension with some modern European influences.
